The Candle and the Wind

I·7 · The Solar Realm

The Transmission

A candle asks the room to hold its breath; the sun has never once looked back to see who is watching. Your light rises with their praise and gutters when it stops — so tell us: whose light is it? We do not shelter flames, little one. We grow suns. Can you burn where no one is watching?

The Shadow Whisper

When this message is being refused, it sometimes flips its pole and calls itself humility: then I will not shine at all — light hidden where no wind can ever reach it. Hear the keepers: you have not renounced the audience. You have only moved it inside your head, where it never stops watching. Small on purpose is still a performance, and it plays to the harshest room there is.

Sit With It

Today, make or do one beautiful thing in complete secret — a made thing, a given thing, a tended thing, a prayer — and never tell anyone. Not ever. Notice the part of you that immediately wants to report it. That part is the wind. Do the practice again tomorrow.
