The Heart of Great Mystery
The Transmission
Forty-three voices have spoken, dear one, and you are still holding the deck as if the forty-fourth were hiding your answer. Innerstand where you have been sent all along: every question you ever asked came from within — and every answer waits in the same country. We are not the authority you hoped to reach. We are the mirror you finally cannot avoid. The heart of Great Mystery has kept your own heart's time since your first spark. When will you go in?
The Shadow Whisper
When this message is being refused, it refuses from both sides of the same door. The perpetual pilgrim cannot stop consulting — cards, signs, teachers, one more confirmation of the confirmation — devotion worn as delay, the corridor preferred to the room, because the room asks for a decision and the corridor only asks for another question. And the sealed one declares there are no answers — having never once sat in the inner room long enough for the quiet to finish its sentence. Both keep the same door shut. So the heart asks the only question the whisper cannot survive, and it is the gentlest one in the deck: what did your heart already answer, dear one, that you are still out here asking about?
Sit With It
This is the closing ceremony of the whole deck, so this once, draw no card. Light one flame. Place the deck face-down under your left hand — the hand nearest the heart — and ask your question inward, once. Then sit in the silence until the answer that was already there surfaces. It will be short; the heart's answers usually are. Speak it aloud one time. Then thank the deck, wrap it, and put it away for the night — the reading is over, and the walking begins. To all our heart-spaced relations, in union and communion.
