Snail Lantern
Go your own speed. Carry your own light.
What this friend is telling you
The snail is the slowest fellow in the entire forest — and the only one whose shell is a glowing lantern. It never hurries, it always arrives, and it lights the path the whole way there. Kids read at different speeds. Grow at different speeds. Learn bikes and math and swimming at different speeds. None of that is a race, no matter what it feels like. Slow with your own light beats fast in the dark, every time.
Watch out for…
measuring your speed against everybody else's. That is exactly how travelers trip.
Try this
Next time something is slow going, say: "I'm not behind. I'm on my way." Then take one more step.
